where did you go on your honeymoon?

we are trying to plan where to go. ideally i would LOVE to go somewhere international, but these days with travel restrictions, being in a plane for 12 hours, knowing exchange rates, etc, i am becoming lazy and may just want to stay in the states. maybe canada (the mister wasn't 100% keen on leaving the country anyways)

we are getting married in october, so if we want warm, we need to go south.

any suggestions/comments are more than welcome!!!

Hey, just wanted to throw in my 2 cents. We haven't really had a honeymoon, we live in KS and got married in FL on the beach. It was an amazing trip to say the least. We took our 3 kids, her parents and my parents, 3 of my friends and 2 of her friends. I know you asked for honeymoon spots and not wedding spots but we made a week long trip out of it. We went to Orlando for most of the trip and rented a house (it was good for a large number of people), and went to Sea World one day, Blizzard Beach (Disney water park) one day, Disney World 2 days, and got married in Coco Beach. I would highly recommend Orlando, if you don't have a problem with crowds or anything. There's so much fun shit to do and see there and in Oct. it will be far less crowded and much better weather. If you're interested in specifics, let me know, I'd be happy to give you any info you wanted. And congrats by the way! :)

orlando may be in the running. i was looking up stuff online today and there is a 4 day cruise that leaves on like a thursday from orlando. so we could do a day or two down there and then cruise it up!!!

i think we may be looking for completely random stuff too.

We just took a short trip up to Vancouver BC. We both hate the heat, so we definitely didn't want to go anywhere tropical.

yeah, it was great. we got married outside too. as we were heading to the chapel, dolled up in wedding suits, the beach was beneath us and people were just lying there sunbathing. also, the thing about it, i took far too much money and came back with a lot more than i expected. some of my wife's family and mine came too. we also got special certificate with our names in Greek etc. damn cool.

What is great is that both of your family were able to make the trip, thats a risk of getting maried in another country.

I was thinking about going to South America & Africa and helping out others, whether it be giving them toothbrushes, clothes, just spending time with them, while taking a tour. I think that would be an awesome honeymoon, real humble. You can go on a volunteer trip for quite cheap. Some places charge like 120- 300 a weekly fee to stay with families etc..
