CLEARSIGHT

CLEARSIGHT is: Klane, Hindmost, Kostya, Wise

Living in different cities Hindmost and Klane were friends for a long time. They shared the same outlook and almost equal music tastes, so when Hindmost moved to Kiev in spring 2008 it was obvious that these two will form a band together. A band that will have an 80s influenced sound, unlike all the current hardcore bands of that area.

Drawing influences from older NYC bands like Crippled Youth, Straight Ahead and contemporary Loud And Clear and Knockdown, guys quickly recorded a demo. The songs turned out pretty simple but at the same time expressive enough. The idea was to spread the positive message through a pissed off music. The songs stood against ignorance, unjustified hatred, for people being real and not being ashamed to express one’s opinion.

Hindmost made few tapes and cd’s and they were on. The demo got good response and the shows in Kiev start to have more and more kids singing along and having fun. In October 2008 Clearsight along with their mates called Still made a trip to Russia where they had two great shows with the best local bands. First of those two became the first show for Moscow’s finest Rearranged and High X Hopes. That was a triumph of positive-oriented hardcore and the date became an unofficial annual for local positive scene. Shortly after the demo tape was remixed and re-released by Hungarian label I Drink Milk. And what is more Aram of React! Records became interested in releasing it on 7” – which would be an unprecedented success for a band from Ukraine.

But by January 2009 the atmosphere within the band start to become worse and moreover Hindmost had to move back from Kiev so the band played one last show and called it quits. In January 2011 Clearsight came back together to play more shows and to record a new EP.
